The client is seeking an experienced IBM MQ Administrator to support enterprise messaging infrastructure. This role focuses on administration troubleshooting performance optimization and automation of IBM MQ environments. The position requires participation in a 24x7 on-call rotation (once every 8 weeks) and close collaboration with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administer and manage IBM MQ (WebSphere MQ) environments (versions 9.3.x and 9.4.x)
Configure and maintain queue managers channels and clustering
Monitor system performance tune MQ environments and ensure high availability
Troubleshoot and resolve MQ-related issues across distributed systems
Automate routine operational tasks using scripting (Shell Python or Ansible)
Manage SSL/TLS certificates and ensure secure messaging configurations
Handle dead letter queues and message delivery issues
Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with development teams
Provide consultation and support during customer meetings
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation (once every 8 weeks)
Required Qualifications
5 10 years of experience in IBM MQ administration
Strong experience with IBM MQ Core (9.3.x 9.4.x)
Experience with Linux/Unix administration (AIX Red Hat SUSE)
Proficiency in scripting (Shell Python or Ansible)
Strong troubleshooting problem-solving and performance tuning skills
Experience with SSL/TLS configuration and security protocols
Familiarity with Agile frameworks
