Job Summary

CNC Machinist - Weekend Shift
Pay: $26-$40/hr (DOE)
Shift: Fri-Sun 6am-6pm
DUTIES INCLUDE:
  • Machine metal parts for the Aerospace industry
  • Set-ups and operate CNC Okuma Lathes
  • Perform regular machine shop duties
  • Selects the best tooling to be used while working with (A286) (Inconel 718) (4340 Material) (Titanium) and machining method for the particular job. Assembles cutting tools in tool holders and positions tool holders in machine spindles as specified or inserts cutting tools in specified machine magazines.
  • Machine components to within specified tolerances
  • Operate a wide variety of both machines and hand tools to perform duties as assigned
  • Participate in corrective actions process to prevent defect downtime and production stops
  • Analyze and diagnose machining and tooling problems
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Aerospace Machinist with CNC set-up and operation experience (5yrs)
  • Knowledge of G&M Coding
  • Experience with Aerospace machining preferred
  • Experience with Nakamura Lathes is highly preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blue prints and procedures
  • Ability to detect tool wear set-up of new tools
  • Knowledge of proper use of dimensional measuring instruments (Calipers micrometers comparitors gauges etc.)
  • Experience performing First Article & In-process Inspections
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • Advance knowledge of math and trigonometry
  • Ability to work safely throughout our manufacturing facilities
  • Minimum 3-5 years machine shop experience in a manufacturing and / or aerospace environment; and
  • High School Diploma or GED with subsequent course work in relevant training desired
