Ensure adherence to dimensional tolerances and surface finish requirements
Interpret blueprints CAD models and process documentation
Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for defects or inefficiencies
Implement process improvements tooling enhancements and lean initiatives
Maintain compliance with quality standards and documentation practices
Safety & Compliance
Enforce workplace safety policies and regulatory compliance (OSHA standards)
Identify risks and implement corrective/preventive actions
Ensure proper maintenance calibration and safe operation of equipment
Equipment & Resource Management
Oversee preventive maintenance and machine repair schedules
Manage tooling fixtures and consumables inventory
Evaluate and recommend capital equipment investments to improve capacity and efficiency
Requirements of the Machine Shop Manager:
Required: High School Diploma or GED
Preferred: Associates or Bachelors degree in Manufacturing Mechanical Engineering or related field
Strong understanding of GD&T machining tolerances and blueprint reading.
Experience with machining aluminum steel and specialty alloys.
Ability to troubleshoot machining programming and tooling issues.
Strong organizational communication and leadership skills.
Experience in a casting/foundry-related machining environment.
Knowledge of Mastercam Fusion 360 or similar CAM software.
Familiarity with lean manufacturing 5S or continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience working in ISO-certified environments.
Other Key Requirements:
100% onsite
Manufacturing shop setting with exposure to machinery noise and metalworking materials.
Ability to stand walk and move between departments for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. as needed.
