Job Summary

Job Summary:

The Occupational Therapist will provide occupational therapy services to a largely outpatient pediatric population serving the hospital (IP and swing bed) LTC and outpatient departments. The role involves transitioning between inpatient outpatient and LTC settings requiring experience with acute and chronic disorders functional activities and standardized assessments.

Responsibilities:

- Provide occupational therapy services to pediatric patients in outpatient inpatient and LTC settings.
- Transition between different care settings (inpatient outpatient LTC).
- Address acute and chronic disorders.
- Implement functional activities and standardized assessments.
- Participate in developmental testing and treatment.
- Address mental retardation.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Maintain and clean equipment.
Required Skills & Certifications:

- BLS certification
- Experience in outpatient acute care or LTC/SNF settings
- Experience working with pediatric patients
- Knowledge of acute disorders chronic disorders and functional activities
- Experience with Standardized Assessments
- Experience with developmental testing/treatment
Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Knowledge of national patient safety goals/core measures
- Experience with Billing
- Knowledge of Feeding Techniques - Oral/Motor
- Experience with disability sequence testing
- Prior pediatric and IP experience
Special Considerations:

- Time off is approved on an individual basis upon offer.
- The facility provides housing and a rental car/vehicle to travelers during assignment.
- Housing units are typically 1-bedroom apartments.
- Pets are not allowed in housing units.
- Bringing additional family members needs approval from the facility.
- The vehicle is for use around town and should not be taken off-road or outside of a 30-mile radius from the facility.
- If the traveler has time off they must turn in the vehicle and will be issued a new one upon return.
Scheduling:
- 4x10 hour day shifts
- Guaranteed 70 hours per 2 weeks
- Traveler can be called off for one 10-hour shift per 2 weeks
- Open to accommodating a block schedule
