The Position

Our client is seeking to fill a Special Assets Officer role in the Schaumburg IL area. The position is responsible for overseeing portfolios that are distressed delinquent or high-risk commercial loans developing strategies to maximize recovery and minimize losses.

This position comes with a generous salary of up to $155K and full benefits package. (This is not a remote position).

Special Assets Officer responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement a workout plan to rehabilitate loans or facilitate orderly exits.

• Prepare Credit Reviews to assess asset quality including performance against original underwriting expectations.

• Work with legal counsel on bankruptcies foreclosure actions and debt restructurings.

• Experience writing policies and procedures for collateral monitoring workouts and periodic loan reviews.

• Report on the assigned portfolio including asset quality stress testing industry and market analysis asset allocation reserves and non-performing loan analysis.

• Draft memos for any substantial changes in a borrowers financial stability or ownership structure.

• 7 years in commercial banking credit analysis or special assets/loan workout.

• Deep experience with financial analysis.

• College degree preferred.

• Working knowledge of commercial lending e.g. commercial real estate construction and C&I products.
