Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist (Cath Lab) Employment Type: Full-Time
Position Overview Kaiser Permanente Northwest is seeking a skilled and team-oriented Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist to support diagnostic interventional and therapeutic procedures within the cardiac and vascular laboratory.
Working under the supervision of a credentialed provider you will play a critical role in delivering safe high-quality patient care while contributing to a collaborative and mission-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities - Assist providers with cardiac and vascular interventional procedures
- Serve as scrub assistant and/or monitor/recorder during procedures
- Prepare and position patients for invasive cardiovascular procedures
- Monitor and document hemodynamic data and patient responses
- Recognize and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias
- Support cardiovascular diagnostic testing and imaging studies
- Maintain equipment readiness and ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Participate in on-call rotation with a 30-minute response time requirement
Required Qualifications - BLS and ACLS Certifications American Heart Association
- One of the following certifications (within 12 months of hire):
- Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES)
- Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS)
- ARRT Vascular Interventional Radiography
- ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography
- Completion of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technologist program
or minimum 2 years of education in an allied health field (e.g. nursing respiratory therapy radiologic technology) - Ability to analyze patient data and perform hemodynamic calculations
- Strong understanding of cardiac rhythms and cardiovascular procedures
- Ability to work in a labor-management partnership environment
Preferred Qualifications - 5 years of recent Cath Lab experience
- Current RCIS or RCES certification
- Demonstrated experience in high-acuity cardiovascular settings
Additional Requirements - Ability to respond within 30 minutes when on-call
- Strong analytical critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to teamwork and collaborative care delivery
