Job Title: Transportation Project Manager (Roadway / Civil Engineering) Location: Indianapolis Indiana (Onsite/Hybrid)
About the Role We are seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to support and lead roadway infrastructure projects across Indiana. This role focuses on delivering state local and federally funded transportation projects working closely with multidisciplinary teams from project initiation through completion.
This is a key position for someone who brings both technical roadway design expertise and project management experience with a strong understanding of INDOT and Federal Aid processes.
Key Responsibilities - Lead and manage roadway/transportation projects from notice to proceed through post-letting services
- Provide direction on design activities ensuring quality and compliance with project standards
- Develop and manage project scope schedules and budgets
- Review and approve design calculations plans and engineering documents
- Coordinate with internal teams sub-consultants and stakeholders for all project elements
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining timelines and deliverables
- Mentor and support junior engineers and CAD designers
- Assist in preparing Letters of Interest (LOIs) and proposals for state and local projects
- Engage with clients to understand project needs and provide technical recommendations
Required Qualifications - Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 10 years of roadway/transportation experience
- At least 5 years of project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana OR ability to obtain within a short timeframe
- Strong experience with:
- INDOT and/or Federal Aid project processes
- Roadway design and project delivery
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D
- Microsoft Office tools
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Preferred Experience - Experience working on state DOT or municipal roadway projects
- Familiarity with INDOT standards procedures and documentation
- Ability to manage cross-functional teams and multiple stakeholders
