Job Title: Transportation Project Manager (Roadway / Civil Engineering) Location: Lafayette Indiana (Onsite/Hybrid) About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Transportation Project Manager to join a growing roadway engineering team delivering state local and federally funded infrastructure projects across Indiana.
This role will play a key part in managing transportation projects from initiation through delivery with a strong focus on INDOT and Federal Aid programs while working closely with internal teams and external clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage roadway/transportation projects from notice to proceed through post-letting services
- Provide direction on design activities ensuring compliance with project standards and requirements
- Develop and manage project scope schedules and budgets
- Review and approve design calculations plans and construction documents
- Coordinate with internal teams sub-consultants and stakeholders across all project phases
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining schedules and deliverables
- Mentor and support junior engineers and CAD designers
- Assist in preparing Letters of Interest (LOIs) and proposals for public-sector projects
- Engage with clients to understand project needs and provide technical recommendations
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum 6 years of roadway/transportation experience
- At least 2 years of project management experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Indiana OR ability to obtain within a short timeframe
- Strong experience with:
- INDOT and/or Federal Aid project processes
- Roadway design and project delivery
- Proficiency in:
- AutoCAD / Civil 3D
- Microsoft Office tools
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and client-facing abilities
- Experience working on INDOT or municipal roadway projects
- Familiarity with Indiana design standards and processes
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
