Job Description: Gathers and distributes materials within the distribution center.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Reads production schedule and work order to determine items to be moved gathered or distributed.
• Conveys materials and items from receiving or storage to production or staging areas or to other designated areas. Sorts and places materials or items on racks shelves or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size type style color or product code.
• Marks materials with identifying information.
• Opens bales crates and other containers.
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
• Weighs or counts items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
• Uses computer to enter records.
• Maintains inventory records.
• Adheres to all quality measures by accurately picking and communicating lot numbers and expiration dates.
• Drives forklift to transport stored items from warehouse to production for assembly.
• Performs daily equipment inspection and changes battery as needed.

SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Performs additional duties as directed.

Qualifications

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations.
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers common fractions and decimals.
  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer experience preferred. Ability to learn and function in a SAP and Microsoft Office environment
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification Work Environment
