Position Overview:
Client is seeking an experienced Senior Financial/Data Analyst to support a large strategic financial initiative within the Investments & Capital Markets division. The role involves a mix of project management financial reporting data analysis reconciliations and testing along with coordination across business and IT teams.
Must-Have Skills:
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Advanced SQL expertise
- Ability to read and understand Python code
- Strong Excel (advanced level) skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Financial background (accounting/finance/reporting)
- Experience with large datasets and relational databases
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Mortgage/Capital Markets domain experience
- Experience with financial systems or accounting applications
- Knowledge of general ledger/subledger data
- JIRA experience
- Data automation and validation experience
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform complex data analysis reconciliations and financial reporting
- Use advanced Excel and SQL for large dataset analysis and validation
- Gather and document data transformation and financial requirements
- Support testing (UAT) regression and reconciliation activities
- Create and maintain technical and process documentation
- Automate validation and data preparation processes
- Track development activities using JIRA
- Troubleshoot and resolve data and project issues
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders
- Support project management activities including tracking reporting and training
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Mathematics / Statistics
- Economics
- Data Analytics or related field
- Strong expertise in:
- SQL querying on complex datasets
- Advanced Excel (data manipulation validation reporting)
- Excellent communication documentation and presentation skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
