Job Summary
As a Project Engineer a typical day might include the following:
- Know and apply fundamental concepts practices and procedures of power system focus area*.
- Assist teams that support customers with the design installation commissioning and operation of automation and/or protection systems both on-site and from SEL offices.
- Complete assigned work using established procedures and working under immediate supervision.
- Complete assigned work within agreed upon scope schedule and budget while focusing on quality and safety.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering or relevant discipline
- Self-motivated with continuous desire to learn and find solutions
- Willing to travel both domestically and internationally a minimum of 75% based on focus area.
- Strong writing documentation and speaking skills
- Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- College coursework in electric power and/or controls (power system protection symmetrical components programming control systems)
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
- Work experience in electric utilities industrial plants communications computer programming or construction
Focus Area Commissioning
- Commissioning perform commissioning and site acceptance testing in the field train and assist customers with installation commissioning and operation of devices. Up to 80% travel.
This position is available in Pullman WA; Houston TX; or Alpharetta GA.

Pay Range Data
Project Engineer I: $97000 $144000.
Project Engineer II: $115000 - $170000.
Project Engineer III: $136000 - $201000.
We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more experience and the salary range may differ if filled at a different level. Our salary ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience training knowledge and skills.
