Position Summary

Johns Hopkins Health System is seeking a professional and reliable Executive Driver to provide safe timely and discreet transportation for senior leadership. This role requires a high level of professionalism confidentiality and flexibility to meet the dynamic schedules of executive staff.

In addition to transportation the Executive Driver supports vehicle coordination scheduling and occasional administrative tasks for executive offices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely transport executives to meetings events and other destinations
  • Plan routes using knowledge of traffic patterns and alternate roadways
  • Maintain vehicles to the highest standards of cleanliness safety and readiness
  • Coordinate transportation schedules in alignment with executive calendars
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and professionalism at all times
  • Communicate effectively with executives and administrative staff regarding schedule changes
  • Assist with light personal support tasks (e.g. handling luggage errands)
  • Keep accurate logs of mileage fuel usage and incidents
  • Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies or unexpected situations
  • Support logistics for meetings and events as needed

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Additional training in security law enforcement or healthcare (preferred)

Experience

  • 25 years of professional driving or chauffeur experience required

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Strong driving skills with emphasis on safety and defensive driving
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions under pressure
  • High level of discretion and professionalism
  • Basic understanding of security awareness and emergency response
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform extended periods of driving or standing
  • Experience supporting senior executives or high-profile individuals in environments where discretion timing and professionalism are critical.
  • Background in law enforcement military executive protection or comparable roles where safety accountability and sound judgment were essential to daily operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate comfortably in executive settings with an understanding of when to engage when to remain unobtrusive and how to adapt to individual preferences without direction.
  • Strong situational awareness including the ability to anticipate issues before they develop adjust plans in real time and maintain awareness of surroundings without prompting.
  • Experience planning routes in advance and adjusting dynamically based on traffic timing and changing conditions with a focus on efficiency and minimizing disruption.
  • Consistent record of reliability in roles requiring punctuality flexibility and responsiveness to changing schedules including early mornings evenings and extended assignments.
  • Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions in unpredictable or time-sensitive situations without escalation or loss of control.
  • Demonstrated discretion and professional judgment including the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately and maintain clear role boundaries.
  • Comfort using navigation tools and communication systems to support real-time coordination and schedule changes.
  • Strong attention to detail in maintaining vehicle readiness managing logistics and ensuring a seamless low-friction experience for executive leadership.

Licenses & Certifications

  • Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
  • Must successfully complete Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and SambaSafety checks
  • Completion of Executive Security Program (post-hire)
  • Ability to complete required training (CPR Stop the Bleed Narcan de-escalation)
  • Defensive driving and emergency response training preferred

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Flexible schedule required including evenings weekends holidays and overtime
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Extended periods of driving and sitting required
  • Must be at least 21 years of age

Salary Range: Minimum 22.33/hour - Maximum 36.86/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
