Job Description

Lansing Grand River Assembly is General Motors rear- and all-wheel-drive luxury car plant in downtown Lansing Michigan. The plant covers about 3.4 million sq ft on 111 acres. It includes body paint general assembly a central utilities complex and an integrated stamping plant. LGR is a core Cadillac performance and premium sedan hub for GM and has received significant investments over the last decade for new Cadillac sedans and the sixthgen Camaro.

LGR currently produces the Cadillac CT4 and CT5 including VSeries and Blackwing highperformance variants for global markets. The plant produces vehicles 10 hours a day four days a week on One shift. GM has recently announced that LGR will build the next generation CT5 (A2-2).


The Role
The Quality Assurance Lead will collaborate across all manufacturing disciplines to drive common and standardized manufacturing quality system requirements procedures metrics and standard this role you will get the chance to interact with all departments involved in the Manufacturing process by driving improvement to their quality and holding them accountable to follow General Motors Global Quality Manual. Your role will be integral to maintaining quality standards throughout the plant and ensuring Lansing Grand River Assembly continues to deliver the best product to our customers.

A successful candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle/propulsion manufacturing GM Quality System/GMS BIQ and Global Quality Manual requirements with the ability to coach teach and audit these standards. Demonstrates managerial courage in providing clear constructive feedback to leadership defines problems clearly offers technical mentorship communicates progress regularly and supports new product launches in the plant when needed.

What Youll Do :

  • Responsible for overall oversight of all activities for Quality Assurance

  • Manages the Department Level 2 Business Plan Deployment Board

  • Facilitate Coaches and Teaches GM-GMS Maintains BIQ MEP

  • Facilitate Coaches and Teaches Quality Requirements PCP and T&E

  • Manage Overall Global Customer Audit Process (people process and data)

  • Monitors plant processes to assure export regulations are being met

  • Leads CoP Requirements

  • Support by auditing plant Internal Audits

  • Department ILM Champion

  • Facilitates Quality Department Meeting

  • Function as a Plant Internal Calibrator for BIQ /Facilitates the GMS BIQ Basketweave

  • Serves as Single Point of Contact for Global Read Across and Safety Tethers

  • Manages Fast Response and timeliness of deliverables

  • Hosts BIQ Corporate Audits GCA Corporate Monitoring Audits Op Ex Reviews and GMAS

  • Supports torque/weld/process audits with Corporate Auditor

  • Supports external ISO Audits

  • Lead new quality initiatives as rolled out by headquarters (E-QFC etc)

Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications):

  • Strong GMS Knowledge Understanding Skills and Experience (BIQ)

  • 3 years of manufacturing experience

  • Knowledge/Understanding of Vehicle Manufacturing Product and Processes

  • Understanding of Global Customer Auditstandardsand Global Quality Manual process/requirements

  • Understanding of Process Control Plans (PCP) and Tools and Equipment Bulletin(TEB) process/requirements

  • Proficient with SharePoint and Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint)

  • High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others motivate employees and elicit work output

  • Ability to Lead without Authority

  • Planning and organizational ability

  • Managerial Courage

  • Strong decision making capability

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Bachelors Degree

  • Minimum of 3 years Group Leader experience within an assembly plant

  • 5 years of manufacturing experience

  • Previous Quality Experience within Vehicle and Powertrain

  • Knowledge and understanding of Torque Process and Requirements

  • Strong GMS Knowledge of the other 4 principles (PI SLT STD CI)
