Job Summary
Job Title: Physical Therapist Acute Care (Contract)
Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift 5x8 Hours (8:00 AM 4:00 PM)
Location - Bronxville NY
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to provide acute care services in a hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of inpatient rehabilitation patient mobility and interdisciplinary collaboration to support recovery and functional independence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat patients in an acute care hospital setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Assess patient mobility strength and functional limitations
- Collaborate with physicians nurses and other healthcare professionals
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery goals
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and patient safety standards
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Physical Therapy (required)
- New York State Physical Therapist License (required within one year of hire)
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification (required)
- Knowledge of physical therapy practices and acute care protocols
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters or Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT)
- APTA membership
- Prior experience in acute care or hospital-based rehabilitation
