Job Summary

Overview

General Summary:

The Senior Clinical Specialist- Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for MassHealth will serve as the clinical leader for the development evaluation and implementation of evidence-based policies and operations to support MassHealth members in need of behavioral therapy including applied behavior analysis (ABA). This role which will report to the MassHealth Behavioral Health Clinical Director within the Office of Clinical Affairs will emphasize systems-level impact equity and family-centered practices translating research into sustainable policies programs and cross-sector initiatives. The Senior Clinical Specialist-BCBA will collaborate with MassHealth executives and staff key stakeholders managed care entities service providers and community partners to ensure policies are responsive inclusive and grounded in best practices.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Serve as the clinical lead for MassHealth for behavioral treatments including ABA
Design review and implement evidence-based clinical policies practices and operations that improve access to behavioral services and supports
Translate research and clinical best practices into practical scalable policy and operations recommendations
Analyze existing policies service gaps and barriers to care; propose data-driven improvements
Ensure policies align with ethical standards cultural responsiveness and trauma-informed approaches
Use data to evaluate policy effectiveness and inform continuous improvement
Collaborate with interagency community education and healthcare partners to provide consultation and technical assistance and to align behavioral health policy and supports across educational medical and social service systems
Ensure behavioral health policies and initiatives are informed by the lived experiences of members promote individual-/family-centered and strengths-based approaches and advance equitable access to diagnosis services and long-term supports for individuals with behavioral support needs including those with autism and/or Down syndrome.
Collaborate with staff to effectively meet departmental goals.
Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Masters Degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis Psychology Education or a related field
Board Certified Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA)

10 years of practice as a BCBA
5 years of service in administration of health plan activities and collaboration with providers plans and stakeholders.
Flexibility and ability to thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
Excellent communication and presentation skills both oral and written to interact with leadership staff providers and other stakeholders.

Additional Information

Preferred Experience:

10 years of experience as a practicing clinician with experience in Applied Behavioral Analysis
5 years of experience in health plan quality management practice management & redesign and/or health services evaluation
Masters degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis Psychology Education or a related field
Demonstrated skills of developing implementing and evaluating quality and compliance with applicable practices in a behavioral health treatment setting
Experience applying behavioral science beyond direct service delivery (e.g. systems change program development policy or consultation)
Strong knowledge of ABA principles ethical standards and evidence-based interventions
Demonstrated experience working with youth and families affected by autism spectrum disorder
