Role Description
The Completion PlanningLead is responsible for leading and directing the planning team supportingall aircraft completion departments including Avionics Interior InstallationLining Structures and Mechanical Systems.This role ensuresalignment between departmental planning activities the master productionschedule and overall aircraft completion milestones. The Completion PlanningLead coordinates planning resources manages Planning Support Requests (PSRs)and ensures the timely preparation of complete and accurate production kitsthat support efficient completion operations.
Essential Job Functions
Lead mentor andcoordinate the activities of the completion planning team supporting multipleinstallation and systems departments to ensure effective task schedulingprioritization and resource allocation.
Collaborateclosely with the Master Scheduler to align departmental completion plans withthe overall slot plan aircraft completion schedule and key projectmilestones.
Serve as theprimary point of contact for Planning Support Requests (PSRs) ensuringrequests are reviewed prioritized and resolved in a timely and accuratemanner.
Oversee thepreparation and completion of production kits ensuring all required materialsengineering documentation work instructions and resources are available priorto the start of completion tasks.
Develop andmaintain planning processes tools and performance metrics that improvescheduling accuracy production visibility and operational efficiency.
Monitor progressand proactively identify potential scheduling conflicts bottlenecks orresource constraints within completion workflows.
Coordinateclosely with department managers engineering teams program management andproduction leadership to ensure seamless communication and execution of projectdeliverables.
Support theimplementation of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvementinitiatives within the planning function.
Generate regularreports on planning performance resource utilization PSR status andproduction kit readiness for management review.
Perform otherrelated duties as assigned.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience
Bachelors degreein engineering aviation management or a related field or an equivalentcombination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 yearsof experience in aircraft completions aviation manufacturing or productionplanning environments.
Demonstratedexperience coordinating or supporting complex aircraft modification orcompletion programs.
Experienceworking with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material RequirementsPlanning (MRP) systems.
Ability to readand interpret engineering drawings technical documentation and aircraftmodification instructions.
Strong technicalproblem-solving and decision-making capabilities within complex aviationproduction environments.
Required Skills andAbilities
Proven experiencein aircraft completion or manufacturing planning within complexmulti-department environments.
Strong leadershipand team coordination skills with experience guiding planning teams orcross-functional groups.
Demonstratedproficiency with production scheduling tools ERP systems and planningsoftware.
Excellentorganizational communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to managemultiple priorities and adapt to changing production demands in a fast-pacedenvironment.
Strong analyticalskills related to production planning scheduling and workflow optimization.
Working knowledgeof lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologiespreferred.
Work Environment
This position is based inan aircraft hangar environment and may involve:
Exposure tovarying temperatures and weather conditions
Loud noise levels
