This temporary position is located in 3010 Hammond Business Place - Wake position is assigned to the Department of Public Safety - JJ Administration.
Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $40.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application).

Management Preferences:
The Social Research Specialist is the point of contact for the divisions 2024 OJJDP System Reform Grant Award designed to adopt core programming models and prioritize behavior management models in state operated juvenile facilities. The specialist is responsible for the requirements associated with external grant funding by tracking key performance indicators maintaining accurate records and contributing information for required reports and evaluations.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with approved practices federal regulations and state policy; identifying and overseeing youth and family consultants; and updating the federal funding agency of progress and barriers.
- Identifies and reports implementation barriers supports continuous quality improvement efforts and collaborates with internal and external partners to promote consistent engagement.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of methods and techniques used in gathering editing analyzing interpreting and reporting best practices and social research information.
- Working knowledge of the principles and administration of project management and grants.
- Working knowledge of Juvenile Justice policies and procedures programming and juvenile laws.
- Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary group of professionals; juveniles family members and partner agencies.
- Ability to participate in program planning evaluation and quality control methods.
- Ability to delegate tasks while working collaboratively and fostering teamwork.
- Skill in written and verbal communication presentations negotiation and consensus building.
- Skill in establishing rapport with coworkers juveniles families and the citizens of North Carolina.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree in a discipline related to the field assigned to the position from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
