Job Summary:
The head football coach is responsible for the organization and implementation of a successful program. Develop a competitive program that is committed to the creation of student-athletes who demonstrate a commitment to academics strong fundamental skills and sportsmanship.
Qualifications:
- Must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of a program
- Cleared background investigation
- Demonstrated ability to accomplish the major duties listed below
- Positive public relations skills
- Strongly encouraged to complete a coaching principles courses
- Complete a First Aid Course with CPR component
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate total development and promotion of the program
- Promotes all athletes to participate in sports and activities throughout the school year
- Plan organize and conduct practice sessions
- Adjust coaching techniques based on the ability of athletes
- Arrange and conduct program-specific activities such as summer training skills-improvement sessions and pre-season try-outs
- Instruct athletes in rules game strategies and performance principles
- Provide training encouragement and motivation to prepare athletes for competition
- Hire supervise and train assistant coaches
- Develop and arrange competition schedules and programs with the approval of the Athletic Director
- Generate additional funds for support of the program through approved fundraisers
- Inventory and issue Athletic Equipment
- Professionally communicate with the media
- Carefully operate under state/league/school rules and regulations.
- Understand rules and regulations and comply with High school activities (See link: Discipline adjusts grievances and works to increase morale and cooperation.
- Provide all documentation to the Athletic Director to fulfill state and system requirements concerning physical examination parental consent and eligibility.
- Effectively manage a budget
- Manage and coordinate Athletic facilities
- Ability to evaluate assistant coaches
- Deal with students parents staff and others in a positive encouraging manner.
- Act ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
- Adhere to the KMS academic standards
- Maintain a school website for communication purposes
