Job Summary:
The Fundraising Events Manager is responsible for providing visionary leadership strategic fundraising and detailed execution of fund development events for Girl Scouts of NE Kansas & NW Missouri. The Fundraising Events Manager will evaluate current event strategies develop innovative fundraising concepts and manage the full lifecycle of events from concept through post-event stewardship and evaluation. Working closely with the Director of Development and cross-functional teams this position will design and execute a portfolio of signature mid-tier and smaller fundraising events that collectively contribute significant philanthropic revenue for the organization. The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and highly organized executor who brings creativity strong relationship-building skills and a proven ability to develop and manage revenue-generating fundraising events.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions:
Event Strategy & Development
- Develop and implement a strategic portfolio of fundraising events that support annual revenue goals and long-term donor engagement including signature events mid-tier events and smaller donor engagement opportunities.
- Identify opportunities to integrate fundraising into existing Girl Scout programs and community initiatives.
- Collaborate with Development leadership to establish event fundraising goals budgets and performance metrics.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising events through post-event analysis including financial performance attendee engagement sponsor satisfaction and recommendations for improvement or evolution.
Event Fundraising & Revenue Generation
- Develop and execute comprehensive fundraising strategies for events including sponsorship packages ticket and table sales and in-event fundraising opportunities.
- Partner with the Fund Development team to identify prospects and expand participation from new and existing donors and sponsors.
- Cultivate solicit and steward corporate sponsors and individual donors to support fundraising events.
- Manage sponsor benefits recognition and stewardship to ensure strong relationships and retention.
- Leverage fundraising events to identify and cultivate new donors and strengthen relationships with existing supporters.
- Track event revenue performance and maintain accurate records of sponsorships donations and event participation in the CRM system.
Event Planning & Execution
- Manage the full lifecycle of fundraising events including planning logistics vendor management and on-site coordination.
- Develop event budgets and financial projections and monitor performance against revenue and expense goals.
- Create detailed project plans and timelines to ensure seamless event execution.
- Coordinate venue logistics catering audio/visual needs décor registration volunteer support and other operational components.
- Collaborate with the Marketing team on event promotion messaging invitations and communication strategies.
- Lead day-of-event operations and ensure a high-quality experience for sponsors donors volunteers and attendees.
Donor Engagement & Stewardship Events
- In collaboration with the Development team identify plan and execute smaller-scale donor engagement events such as receptions and lunches.
- Support the integration of mission moments and storytelling into events to highlight the impact of Girl Scouts programs.
- Ensure thoughtful follow-up and stewardship activities following events.
Cross-Functional Collaboration and Team Contribution
- Collaborate with Development Marketing Finance and Mission Delivery teams to align event strategy with organizational priorities.
- Coordinate with program staff to highlight Girl Scout experiences and voices during fundraising events.
- Contribute to a collaborative mission-driven team culture focused on creativity accountability and shared success.
- Stay informed on emerging trends and best practices in nonprofit fundraising events and experiential philanthropy.

Work Environment & Working Conditions:
- This position is a remote-based position.
- Employees must reside within the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area and attend regular in-person meetings.
- Work is performed in a typical office environment with some exposure to outdoor conditions during events.
- Work is performed in a normal interior environment with occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions dirt dust and extreme temperatures.
- Monday through Friday schedule with flexibility required for occasional evenings and weekends to support events and donor engagement activities.
Physical Demands:
- The person in this position will primarily work in seated and standing positions while using a computer and other office equipment for extended periods.
- Event execution may require extended periods of standing walking and moving throughout event spaces.
- The person in this position may occasionally lift or move materials weighing up to 25-30 pounds such as event materials signage or supplies.
Travel Required:
- The person in this position will be required to travel on a scheduled and non-scheduled basis throughout the Council area.
- This person must have access to reliable transportation and auto liability insurance at the minimum level in their state of residence.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience:
- Minimum 35 years of experience planning and executing events including experience with nonprofit fundraising events sponsorship development or donor engagement activities.
- Demonstrated experience securing event sponsorships or fundraising support from individuals or corporate partners.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects and event logistics from concept through completion.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with donors sponsors vendors and volunteers.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word Excel Outlook SharePoint).
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university.
- Experience working with donor CRM systems (Raisers Edge NXT preferred).
- Experience managing event budgets and revenue targets.
- Experience developing new fundraising events or growing existing events into sustainable revenue-generating programs.
- Experience working with event committees volunteer leadership or board members to support fundraising initiatives.
- Familiarity with the Kansas City philanthropic and corporate community.
- Passion for the mission of Girl Scouts.
Additional Eligibility Requirements:
- Valid Drivers License with an acceptable driving record required.
- Employment is dependent upon the results of a criminal background investigation.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance Requirements:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
- Able to pass a child abuse background check in Kansas and Missouri.
