How youll contribute

A Registrar who excels in this role will:

• Gather and verify patient account information insurance coverage and ensure accurate entry of demographic billing and clinical data including assigning medical record numbers.
• Distribute and explain forms obtain necessary signatures and meet with patients or caregivers to exchange essential information.
• Communicate with physician offices nursing units and other personnel to coordinate admissions and determine placement.
• Verify insurance benefits obtain precertifications/authorizations and process payments or refer to financial counselors as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service addressing patient questions and concerns while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
• Utilize electronic health record (EHR) and registration software efficiently to manage data and support documentation compliance.

• Collaborate with departments and resolve registration issues to facilitate smooth patient admissions and ensure adherence to hospital policies and regulatory requirements.

What were looking for

• High school diploma or equivalent required; three years of directly related experience may be substituted for the required education.
• Previous computer experience required including familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) or registration systems.
• Strong critical thinking skills decisive judgment and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients families and staff.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital procedures; billing or collections experience strongly preferred.
• Detail-oriented organized and able to maintain accuracy while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
