Job Summary

Academic Program Administrator The Academic Program Administrator manages the day-to-day operations for the degree and certificate programs in the Department of Epidemiology at the BU School of Public Health. Programs include Master of Public Health (MPH) Master of Science (MS) and the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programs. The APA will be able to describe the program policies and explain requirements to graduate students enrolled in their respectful degree and certificate programs. They will act as a facilitator on behalf of students and will work closely with faculty and administration at the School of Public Health to help ensure student success and a quality program. The APA will enhance culture among students alumni and departments by planning promoting and monitoring events such as concentrator dinners orientation seminars trainings and social gatherings. They will manage student information curriculum development local production of publications updating of courses syllabi academic documents student activities and will also organize the department annual conjunction with the Department Chair Program Directors Office of Career Services Directors of Professional and Academic Advising and Graduate Student Life the APA will also oversee all curricular and department educational activities. This is an in-person on-site role with standard operating hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday with flexibility to support evening events as needed. *Please submit a cover letter as well as your resume for consideration*

Required Skills

  • Bachelors degree required. Masters preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience.
  • Must be highly organized and detail-oriented have strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills Computer skills including working knowledge of MS Office (Word and Excel primarily).
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with appropriate discretion and sensitivity.
  • Must be committed to providing the highest level of customer service and responsiveness.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
