Driver

Position Summary:

Drivers are expected to follow and execute predetermined routes to move material between facility buildings and local suppliers. While a class A license is not required for drivers a clean driving record is required of all drivers. Drivers will demonstrate an ability to perform a daily vehicle inspection read shippers and verify that their load is aligned with the records in hand. They must also be able to operate a forklift and have the ability to safely load and unload material onto their truck as well as perform a thorough visual inspection verifying that there is no identifiable part defects or damage. Typically 1-2 years of experience.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Pick-up and deliver various items and products
• Loading and unloading of goods
• Accurate checking of orders
• Management of on-time delivery
• Arrange timely shipping of product
• Maintenance of up-to-date shipping and receiving information in the network
• Timely packaging/unpacking of product for safe delivery to customer or processing
• Adhere to all company policies
• Other duties as assigned
• 35lbs lifting

Drivers are expected to maintain an organized clean and safe work area by following all safety standards expectations and quality practices. Required Skills:

• Warehouse/Manufacturing Experience:Prior experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment preferred.
• Language Skills:Ability to read interpret and verbally communicate documents effectively.
• Mathematical Skills:Ability to add subtract multiply and divide using whole numbers fractions and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability:Able to apply reasoning skills and understanding to carry out instructions presented in written oral or diagram form.
• Organizational Skills:Strong ability to prioritize tasks with urgency and sound business judgment.
• Regulatory & Instruction Interpretation:Ability to read and interpret job-related instructions and legal knowledge requirements.
• Communication Skills:Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with internal teams suppliers shipping agents couriers and occasionally government officials.
• Computer Skills:Proficient with computers and software including Microsoft Excel; data processing skills are valued.
• Forklift Certification:Must possess valid forklift certification.

Required Experience:

Forklift Operation:Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or logistics environment.

DOT Certification (Preferred):DOT certification is a plus and may support transportation-related duties.

Route Navigation:Experience navigating delivery routes efficiently and safely.

Level of Education:

Education Requirement:High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred Training:Certificate from a technical school or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
