Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join an Orthopedic Surgery unit. The RN will provide high-quality care to post-operative and orthopedic patients ensuring safe recovery and optimal outcomes in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Scheduling Details:
- Shift: Night shift (3x12-hour shifts)
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (subject to change based on unit needs)
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
- Orientation: 16 hours (non-billable)
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to orthopedic surgical patients
- Monitor post-operative patients and manage pain mobility and recovery
- Administer medications and treatments safely
- Assess patient conditions and respond to changes promptly
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems
- Educate patients and families on recovery mobility and discharge planning
Requirements:
- Active Tennessee RN License or Multistate License (required)
- Minimum 1 year of orthopedic or related specialty experience
- Travel experience required (no first-time travelers)
- Certifications Required:
- BLS
- ACLS
- NIHSS
- Minimum 1 year of EPIC EMR experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in teaching hospitals or community hospital settings
- Strong clinical communication and teamwork skills
