Description
The Physical Therapist I serves as a primary clinician providing comprehensive physical therapy evaluations treatments and education to patients with various medical conditions. This role involves collaborating with interdisciplinary teams setting measurable patient goals and ensuring high-quality care in alignment with established standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Patient Care & Treatment:
comprehensive evaluations testing and treatment for patients with multiple medical conditions.
patients and their families in a manner tailored to their needs.
and adjusts individualized treatment plans with clear measurable goals.
daily practices align with established patient care standards.
appropriate equipment for patient care.
Collaboration & Communication:
effectively with patients families and the healthcare team.
in interdisciplinary team conferences to enhance patient care.
cooperatively with other team members to maintain a positive and results-oriented work environment.
with care teams and community resources for post-discharge planning and follow-up.
to requests for professional information or advice referring complex matters to appropriate personnel.
other staff as appropriate
Operational Responsibilities:
treatment schedules for optimal staff and equipment use.
productivity while adhering to quality standards.
and ensures compliance with infection control and sterile technique protocols.
patient care details and records service charges accurately.
inventory equipment maintenance and work area organization.
Professional Development & Compliance:
relevant educational in-services and professional activities to stay current on industry practices.

Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from a Physical Therapy Program accredited by CAPTE.
Experience: Less than one year of clinical experience as a physical therapist.
Licensure: A valid unencumbered Physical Therapist License approved by Georgia Board of Physical Therapy.
Certifications:
: Basic Life Support (BLS)
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS (Medium Max 25lbs): up to 25 lbs. 0-33% of the workday (infrequently) Lifting 25 lbs. max; Carrying of objects up to 25 lbs.; Occasional to frequent standing & walking Occasional sitting Close eye work (computers typing reading writing) Physical demands may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS: Factors affecting environmental conditions may vary depending on the assigned work area and tasks. Environmental exposures include but are not limited to: Blood-borne pathogen exposure Bio-hazardous waste chemicals/gases/fumes/vapors Communicable diseases Electrical shock Floor Surfaces Hot/Cold Temperatures Indoor/Outdoor conditions Latex Lighting Patient care/handling injuries Radiation Shift work Travel may be required. Use of personal protective equipment including respirators and environmental conditions may vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks.
