Job Title: CRCST-Certified Sterile Processing Quality Control Technician
Location: Elmhurst IL 60126
Shift: 2nd Shift (3:00 PM 11:30 PM)
Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to support sterile processing operations and ensure the highest standards of instrument cleanliness assembly accuracy and regulatory compliance. This role combines hands-on sterile processing responsibilities with quality assurance documentation and inspection to maintain patient safety and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow ANSI/AAMI standards manufacturer IFUs SOPs and internal work instructions
- Decontaminate clean assemble and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment
- Inspect instruments for cleanliness functionality and defects prior to packaging
- Assemble and package instrument trays accurately
- Operate sterilization equipment including washers and autoclaves
- Maintain accurate documentation for sterilization cycles tracking and inventory
- Identify and report missing or damaged instruments
- Monitor inventory levels and support supply management
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
- Adhere to infection control and safety protocols
- Collaborate with internal teams and communicate effectively
- Participate in training and continuous improvement initiatives
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced controlled indoor environment
- Exposure to biohazardous materials and strong odors
- Regular use of PPE required
- Extended periods of standing and physical activity
Required Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Certifications:
- Certification in sterile processing (e.g. CRCST CIS)
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on sterile processing experience
- Strong knowledge of decontamination assembly and sterilization processes
- Familiarity with ANSI/AAMI standards and IFUs
- Experience operating sterilization equipment (autoclaves washers etc.)
- Strong attention to detail and quality focus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
- Basic computer skills and documentation proficiency
- Strong communication and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in quality control or quality assurance roles
