ABOUT THIS ROLE
In this role you will be responsible for directing the day to day accounting functions including the monthly closing of the books regulatory reporting validating the net income invoice review compensation department budgets investor equity reporting and quarterly investor reporting. This person will also be expected to build and present reports on the financial status for senior leadership review and lead internal as well as any external audits that will arise.
Youll be responsible for:
- Leading the daily and monthly accounting processes of the PEAK6 Bruce Marketsfinance
- Prepare and oversee all necessary daily monthly (FOCUS) quarterly and annual regulatory financial filings with our primary SROs ensuring accuracy and timely financialreporting
- Reviewing and maintaining daily capital requirements
- Develop and maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget
- Financial Analysis Budgeting and Forecasting
- Oversee and coordinate the month end close
- Manage accounts payable and receivable reviewing large payables and authorizingACH and wire disbursements/payments
- Develop and enforce internal controls to maximize protection of company assets policies procedures and workflow
- Supervising T&E reimbursement process and policies
- Prepares and presents financial results to the senior leadership and prepare quarterlyinvestor reporting financials
- Serve as a key point of contact for internal and external auditors while managing thepreparation and support of all audit
- Identify and enact policies and procedures that result in better operational workflows forfinance while maintaining the highest regulatory and accounting best practices
- Participate in strategic or regulatory projects
- Engage with Operations Risk Corporate Accounting Shared Services and Complianceto service the needs of the business
Your Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of broker-dealer financial accounting and reporting experience
- Bachelors degree in Finance Accounting or Business; or equivalent years of experience
- Series 27 - Financial and Operations Principal Certification (FINOP) with a clean U4 preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred
- Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting and ability to perform technical accountingresearch as required
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint and NetSuite preferred
- Ability to manage at a high level in a dynamic global organization with multiple orchanging mandates
- Self-starter with strong organizational and communication skills
- Desire to be a hands-on manager and work collaboratively with the operations groupsenior leadership trading and risk
