Under direct supervision provide administrative support for payroll and Human Resources functions at the service center.
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain close contact with Corporate Human Resources for questions related to OD policies and procedures and state/federal employment laws and regulations
- Prepare weekly payroll status changes and wage/salary administration file for approval and submission
- Process all new employee applications including scheduling new hires for interviews preparing and posting internal and external job openings and assist with the hiring process
- Coordinate driver drug testing physicals and maintain DOT driver files
- Track employee leaves and entitlements including non-pay call-ins no calls no shows and PTO record
- Direct employee questions concerning benefits insurance and 401(k) enrollments to the corporate benefits team
- Direct employees with questions about FMLA Short-Term Disability Long-Term Disability and Workers Compensation cases to the appropriate corporate department
- Assist employees by scanning and emailing documents to corporate
- Process employee orders for uniforms and distribute to department personnel
- Handle all employee information confidentially
Job Qualifications
Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent
Experience:
- 1 year of payroll and/or HR experience preferably in transportation industry
- Experience with AS400 and SAP
- Experience in Human Resources with a focus on recruitment payroll and wellness/benefits
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
