Job Summary

The Warehouse Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day warehouse operations ensuring a safe organized and efficient work environment. This role manages inventory control warehouse staff training compliance with safety standards and accurate data management. The Warehouse Manager plays a critical leadership role in supporting technicians communicating with management and driving continuous improvement cost efficiency and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations & Safety

  • Oversee daily warehouse operations to ensure efficiency accuracy cleanliness and safety
  • Conduct routine and formal audits of warehouse facilities (internal and external) to identify safety hazards
  • Proactively mitigate identified safety risks in a timely manner
  • Act as First Aid Attendant and maintain all first aid kits logs and checklists
  • Adhere to and actively promote AFL environmental health and safety policies
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping to promote a safe and compliant work environment

Inventory & Asset Management

  • Manage all shipping receiving stocking and inventory control processes for company assets
  • Ensure accurate physical receipt of materials completion of required documentation labeling and proper storage
  • Maintain clear inventory visibility and accessibility for warehouse staff and technicians
  • Coordinate cycle counts spot checks and inventory audits; communicate discrepancies and stock levels to leadership
  • Create maintain and enforce material sign-out procedures
  • Organize outbound shipments including palletizing wrapping and coordination with delivery services
  • Communicate inventory changes shortages and reorder needs to management and technicians

Staff Leadership & Training

  • Train coach and support warehouse staff to ensure adherence to safety standards and operational procedures
  • Develop maintain and deliver training materials documents and manuals as required
  • Orient new technicians and support visiting or out-of-town deployed technicians
  • Train staff on document usage inventory systems and warehouse procedures
  • Provide leadership support to Warehouse Associate I functions as needed

Communication & Customer Support

  • Serve as the primary warehouse point of contact for technicians visitors and internal stakeholders
  • Greet all warehouse visitors and assess needs professionally
  • Interpret process and fulfill technician material orders accurately
  • Respond to inquiries via phone email or in person in a timely and professional manner
  • Maintain regular communication with technicians and management to ensure alignment and service continuity

Data Management & Reporting

  • Create maintain and upload warehouse data and documentation accurately and on time including:
    • Sign-out sheets
    • Purchase order receiving documentation
    • Client receiving logs
    • Material order logs
    • Shipping requests and transfer tracking
  • Ensure all data is uploaded into the centralized database for access by the materials team and auditors
  • Update documentation as required to reflect data or process changes

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve warehouse efficiency accuracy and safety
  • Make recommendations for cost-saving initiatives and operational enhancements
  • Take ownership of requests and explore opportunities to add value beyond core responsibilities

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in warehouse operations shipping and receiving inventory management or logistics
  • Prior experience supervising or leading warehouse staff preferred
  • Experience with telecom materials strongly preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office particularly Excel
  • Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and efficiency
  • Ability to lift and carry materials exceeding 30 lbs
  • Normal color vision required for managing color-coded wiring
