This position is in our Ag & Trading enterprise where we connect producers and users of grains and oilseeds around the globe through origination trading processing and distribution. We also offer a range of farmer services and risk management solutions.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Atlantic Trader is a critical trading role within Cargills Ocean Transportation business; working as a part of the Capesize team you will be required to build a regional trading book and generate income while maintaining relationships with customers owners and brokers. The role has significant growth/development opportunities and scope.

This role is suited to a commercially driven trader who can independently generate P&L while contributing to the broader desk strategy and stepping into wider responsibilities when required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Originate build and monetise a physical Capesize trading book using a deep understanding of freight market dynamics paper/physical spreads and regional nuances.
  • Actively position fleet/cargo/cashbook to capture value.
  • Monitor the profit and loss on a daily weekly and monthly basis.
  • Operate beyond own book with ability to manage broader desk positioning when required.
  • Work within a wider team/ecosystem providing expert knowledge and coaching to others as required.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

    • Minimum of four years of related work experience.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with autonomy and generate P&L in a trading environment.
