Job Summary

The State of Montana has a decentralized human resources (HR) system. Each agency is responsible for its own recruitment and selection. What are we looking for

Minimum qualifications include education and experience equivalent to a bachelors degree in human resources business administration public administration or a related field and five years of progressively responsible human resource management experience. Human Resources Professional Certification through HRCI or SHRM is preferred.

We are seeking an individual who can independently manage a human resource office of one while also collaborating with agency teams and other HR professionals in the state government. You must have strong written and verbal communication skills an empathetic management style and strong problem-solving skills. What will you be doing

TheHuman Resources Specialistcoordinates and delivers human resource (HR) services for the Montana State Library. The position is responsible for providing consultation to management on strategic staffing plans compensation training and development budget and employee/labor relations. Regular duties include biweekly payroll safety work comp employee consultation data and statistical reporting and performing and overseeing all human resource management functions for the agency. The position reports to theCentral Services Manager and collaborates with the Department of Administration HR Office.
