Job Skills / Requirements

ESS Clean is looking for a motivated hands-on leader to join our team as an Area Manager supporting the Champaign-Urbana region and surrounding areas. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys leading teams solving problems and staying actively involved in day-to-day operations.

As an Area Manager youll oversee janitorial services across multiple client sites ensuring consistent quality strong team performance and outstanding customer satisfaction. Youll play a key role in supporting employees building client relationships and stepping in when needed to keep operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead supervise and support cleaning teams across multiple locations
• Step in and perform hands-on cleaning when needed to maintain service continuity
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality standards and contract requirements are met
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients addressing needs promptly and professionally
• Manage employee schedules to ensure consistent and timely service delivery
• Train coach and mentor staff on cleaning techniques safety and performance expectations
• Oversee inventory supplies and equipment across all assigned sites
• Communicate with leadership on performance challenges and improvement strategies
• Coordinate special projects and deep-cleaning services
• Respond quickly to service issues ensuring proper documentation and resolution
• Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships

Qualifications

• Experience in a management supervisory or leadership role (janitorial or facilities experience preferred)
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to manage multiple sites teams and priorities
• Experience with scheduling inventory and service-based operations
• Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
• Physically able to perform cleaning tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word Excel Outlook)
• Valid drivers license with reliable transportation

Additional Skills

• Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities
• Knowledge of cleaning methods products and equipment is a plus
• Flexibility to adjust schedule as needed including occasional weekends or urgent situations
