Job Summary:
Central Sterile Tech
Collects decontaminates stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.
Reports to: Director of Surgery Services
Essential Functions:
Provides inspection decontamination assembly and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines AAMI AORN TJC and OSHA requirements.
Operates departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with emphasis on safety.
Provides customer service to all departments with a focus on the patient need.
Processes and documents all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical biological and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy.
Monitors and performs antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
Education : High School Diploma or equivalent
License: Central Sterile Technician (CSR) certification within 6 months of hire
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
