JOB TITLE: Materials Management Coordinator
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
Under the direction of the Materials Manager performs a variety of planning procuring and sometimes distribution of supplies equipment and
services for the surgical centers. Ensures necessary levels of inventory are maintained by facilities. Performs value analysis activities as necessary. Assist A/P with reconciliation of invoices. Serves as a liaison between surgery center Director and corporate Materials Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
ï Knowledge of Surgical Specialties and their prospective equipment & supply needs.
ï Effective liaison between other departments in forecasting planning and supplying their
supply demands.
ï Completes analysis of data to determine best available cost and minimal lead time.
ï Product prioritization and management keeping number of similar items to a minimum.
ï Payment term negotiation optimization and management.
ï Ability to research & evaluate supplier performance in support of existing contracts.
ï Handle & process item requests changes and purchasing information in database.
ï Concurrently monitors resource utilization supplies and expenses. Takes action
immediately as needed.
ï Manage the center staffs management of suppliers relationships and agreements.
ï Knowledge of Packaging Transport Health & Safety regulatory guidelines and
compliance to ensure facility compliance.
ï Monitors and assists with the collection documentation and reporting of product
performance assessment and improvement data.
ï Completes Inventory updating and Standardization.
ï Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
ï High School graduate or equivalent A.S degree preferred.
ï Three to four years experience in medical materials management or one to two years as
OR materials management.
ï Background in Surgical Setting considered.
ï Strong supervisory and organizational skills required.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
ï Knowledge in all phases of material management including the ability to compose and
administer the department budget.
ï Knowledge of medical terminology.
ï Ability to work well independently and perform duties under pressure.
ï Strong computer skills with knowledge of excel.

PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS: Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal
office environment.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal busy office environment with
much computer and telephone work.
