UW Medical Center Montlakehas an opportunity for an experiencedLactation Consultant Nurse to join our Postpartum Unit.The Lactation Consultant serves as a support to pregnant and lactating parents and their infants.
RESPONSIBILITIES
but not limited to:
Manage and/or support a caseload of patients across the perinatal and breastfeeding continuum (assessment care planning intervention and evaluation).
Provide lactation services to patients on an as-needed basis working with other care providers to triage need. Dedicated time for hospital-wide availability is provided.
a. direct care to lactating patients as needed
b. availability to provide immediate resource to patients
c. consultation to perinatal staff to assist in the lactation support of their patients

REQUIREMENTS
Have/obtain a Washington State RN license to practice
Two or more years of current/recent experience in nursing care of breastfeeding families.
IBCLC (International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant) certification.
