Senior Engineering Manager, User Safety

You will lead product engineering pods within the User Safety organization driving the technical vision and execution for the systems that keep Roblox a safe and civil space for millions. You will own the end-to-end safety lifecycle: from building high-frictionless tools for reporting abuse and onboarding internal features to safety protocols to engineering the engines behind consequences user reform and appeals. As the primary bridge between our users and Robloxs safety ecosystem you will navigate the delicate balance between robust enforcement and user education. This role requires a leader who can manage complex cross-functional dependencies across Product Trust & Safety Policy Data Science and Legal to deliver high-integrity social experiences at an unprecedented scale.

You Will:

• Lead and Develop: Recruit hire mentor and inspire a diverse team of exceptional engineers. Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive environment that promotes professional growth.
• Ensure Technical Excellence: Establish and maintain rigorous standards for technical quality. Ensure the team delivers reliable scalable and secure solutions in adherence to Robloxs engineering principles.
• Foster Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers designers and other key stakeholders to comprehend business objectives and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Contribute to Strategy: Participate in the development of the overall capture and sharing strategy. Identify opportunities for innovation and expansion and strategically prioritize projects that maximize value for our user base.
• Champion Continuous Improvement: Instill a culture of ongoing learning and improvement within the team. Encourage experimentation knowledge dissemination and the adoption of new technologies.

You Have:

• Demonstrated experience as a leader of successful engineering teams responsible for building new product or platform features.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities to deconstruct complex challenges into manageable components coupled with the requisite project management skills to drive projects to successful completion.
• A long-term strategic perspective balanced with the practical ability to implement timely short-term solutions to launch systems and gather user feedback informing superior long-term planning.
• Experience developing consumer-facing applications supported by a strong platform-thinking mindset.
