Job Summary

- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations including physical examinations range of motion assessments strength testing and vital sign measurements to establish baseline data and inform treatment planning
- Develop and implement evidence-based individualized treatment plans tailored to each patients specific condition goals and functional limitations
- Perform a variety of therapeutic interventions including modality treatments therapeutic exercises manual therapy techniques gait training neuromuscular re-education and activities of daily living (ADL) training
- Provide clear empathetic instruction to patients and their families regarding assistive devices home exercise programs and self-management strategies to support long-term recovery
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system documenting patient progress treatment responses and clinical observations
- Communicate effectively with physicians healthcare team members and other professionals to ensure coordinated high-quality patient care
- Analyze patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans as needed based on clinical findings and patient feedback demonstrating analytical thinking and commitment to continuous improvement
- Mentor and provide guidance to Physical Therapist Assistant students technicians and other team members fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and contribute to organizational improvements that enhance patient care and operational efficiency
- Stay current with evidence-based practices and professional standards in physical therapy through ongoing professional development
Qualifications :
**Required Qualifications:**
- Physical Therapy degree from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapy program
- Current active Physical Therapist license in the state of Maine
- Current CPR certification (American Heart Association or equivalent)
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy physiology and pathophysiology
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and basic computer skills including MS Office applications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to diverse audiences
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple patients and priorities efficiently
- Physical ability to perform patient care duties including standing walking and assisting patients with movement and positioning
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Recent graduate or early-career Physical Therapist (new graduates are encouraged to apply)
- Experience with specialized patient populations (orthopedic neurological cardiovascular or geriatric)
- Knowledge of additional therapeutic modalities or specialized techniques
- Experience with electronic health records and healthcare information systems
- Commitment to professional development and continuing education
- Experience in a collaborative team-based healthcare setting
