GCyber is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer/Architect to support a high visibility customer in Washington DC. The Senior DevOps Engineer/Architect you will be responsible for designing building and managing a modern infrastructure environment including containerizing legacy applications automating code delivery pipelines and ensuring the reliability and security of production systems.
As the Senior DevOps Engineer/Architect you will:
Architect containerization strategies for legacy applications and define migration paths to Kubernetes-based environments
Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab Jenkins Rancher and Helm for automated build test and deployment workflows
Build and manage container infrastructure using Docker and Kubernetes across on-premises and cloud environments
Automate infrastructure provisioning configuration management and operational tasks using Python Bash and Shell scripting
Implement and maintain monitoring alerting and observability solutions using Prometheus Grafana and the ELK Stack
Enforce access management and security best practices including IAM SSH VPN and S3 bucket policies
Lead incident response efforts conduct post-mortems and drive systemic improvements
Establish and document architectural standards deployment patterns and SLOs/SLIs for platform reliability
Manage documentation and project tracking in Jira and Confluence
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance
DoD 8570 IAT II / Security certification (or equivalent)
7 years of experience in DevOps platform or infrastructure engineering
Demonstrated experience in an architect or senior technical lead capacity
Hands-on expertise with Kubernetes Docker and Helm in production environments
Proficiency with CI/CD tooling: GitLab Jenkins and Rancher
Strong scripting skills in Python Bash and/or Shell
Experience deploying and managing on-premises/data center infrastructure
Solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems networking load balancers and firewalls
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS Azure or GCP)
