Acutronic is looking for a Quality Engineer I to support and improve the Quality Management System (QMS) while ensuring product and process compliance across manufacturing operations. This role drives quality assurances supports continuous improvement initiatives and partners cross-functionally with Engineering Operations Supply Chain and Customers to reduce defects improve process capability and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Quality Engineer I

Your Roles/Responsibilities:

  • Develop implement and maintain inspection plans for incoming in-process and final inspection
  • Define acceptance criteria aligned with engineering drawings specifications and customer requirements
  • Support implementation of risk-based controls (FMEA Control Plans APQP elements where applicable)
  • Ensure compliance with QMS requirements and regulatory/customer standards
  • Lead and/or support root cause analysis using structured methodologies (8D 5 Whys Fishbone etc.)
  • Manage and drive closure of Nonconformances RMAs and Corrective Actions
  • Support containment corrective and preventive actions to prevent recurrence
  • Support supplier quality activities including supplier qualification and performance monitoring managing supplier corrective actions (SCARs) and resolving incoming quality issues.
  • Develop and maintain procedures work instructions and quality documentation
  • Ensure proper documentation control and record retention
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to ensure design for quality and manufacturability
  • Provide training and guidance on quality processes and requirements
  • Support calibration and measurement system management

Your Profile/Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical or Industrial/Process Engineering Manufacturing Management or related field from an accredited college or university preferred
  • At least one years of related aerospace defense or engineering industry experience required
  • Additional training or specializations in quality assurance management and analytics preferred
  • Training and experience with IPC standards for Electronic manufacturing and assembly preferred
  • Experience with Government Contract flow downs including DFARS FARS and DPAS preferred. A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Experienced in project management as well as documentation practices preferred
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and AS91000 preferred
