Quality Welding Inspector

Job Title: Quality Welding InspectorLocation: Columbus Ohio 43230 (Gahanna)Rate: Starting at $22/HR depending on experiencePosition Overview:The Quality Welding Inspector is responsible for ensuring that all fabricated and machined metal products meet company and customer quality standards. This hands-on position requires strong mechanical inspection skills the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications and proficiency with precision measuring tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in precision metal fabrication excellent attention to detail and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced team-oriented job shop Responsibilities:Inspect fabricated metal products and assemblies for accuracy quality and compliance with mechanical inspections using calipers micrometers gauges and other precision measuring and interpret engineering drawings prints geometric tolerances and weld symbols (GDT).Convert between Metric and English measurements and between fractions and document inspection results and prepare certifications and reports as defects and nonconforming products determine disposition and recommend corrective and execute material inspection procedures calibration systems and statistical program and calibrate CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) equipment (experience preferred).Maintain compliance with ISO procedures and internal quality collaboratively with production teams to resolve quality issues and drive continuous an organized clean and safe inspection other duties as assigned to support business Requirements:Experience: Minimum 3 years of on-the-job experience in precision metal fabrication or machining quality : High school diploma or equivalent Skills:Strong knowledge of inspection hand tools and geometric tolerances (GDT).Ability to read and interpret technical drawings blueprints and to convert Metric and English measurements and fractions to proficiency (Excel Word or quality reporting systems).CMM operation and programming experience of calibration systems ISO procedures and quality with sheet metal welding processes and finishing Requirements:Ability to lift up to 75 standing bending stooping and reaching Skills:Excellent verbal and written attention to detail and organizational to work independently and as part of a team in a busy job shop Requirements:Must reside in Columbus OH or surrounding areas with reliable pass a background check and drug or pallet jack experience experience in a custom fabrication or job shop environment a plus.
