Your day to day:

Under direction you will teach and instructstudents in grades6th through8th instrumental music social behavioral and other educational skill areas. You will plan develop organize and conduct a comprehensive educational program formiddle schoolstudents assist middle school students in making appropriate lifestyle adjustments and in the determination of career and vocational choices and other related functions as required.

  • You will teach and instruct middle schoolbands and provideshigh school assistance.
  • Co-teaching withhigh school bands.
  • You will host musical events.
  • You will individualize and adapt educational processes and procedures to enhancestudent educational opportunities for students and effectively utilize the time available for instructional activities.
  • Maintain appropriate standards ofstudent behavior using behavioral management strategies and techniques including positive reinforcement and behavior shaping procedures.
  • Review analyze evaluate and report student academic social and emotional growth.
  • Counsel confer with and communicate with parents school and district personnel regardingstudent progress and the interpretation of the music education program.
  • Cooperatively pursue alternative solutions to address student learning problems and to enhance expanded academic social and emotional growth opportunities.
  • Perform a variety of non-instructional duties including curriculum and instructional development activities student supervision and consultation activities.

Successful candidatesrequire outstanding collaboration and leadership skills toassista highly recognized band program with historicalexcellence in marching band jazz band winter percussion and concert bands.

This position also has responsibilities with the high school marching band middle school jazz and pep bands.

  • You have successfully completed student teaching at an accredited college or university.
  • You have obtained state certification (Licensing) and endorsement in language arts applicable to grades 6-8.

  • You have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multitask.
