Starting Pay: $17.00 per hour plus additional shift differential for evenings nights and weekends.

Priority consideration will be provided to internal applicants first. Applicants with previous agricultural or production experience will be considered preferred. Applicants must reside in the United States to be considered for an interview.

Requirements: Must have at least 12 months of consecutive work history with one employer and no additional job gaps in employment greater than 6 months in the past 36 months. If applicant has been laid off or providing child or elder care the employment gap will be increased to 18 months. Previous work history will not apply to applicants who have been full time students consecutively for the last 36 months.

Rehire criteria is a minimum waiting period of 180 days.

Rehire Rule of no more than 3 times worked at Cobb/Tyson Foods.

Hours:6:00am-2:00pm

Work schedule is subject to change based upon production needs.


Position Summary

  • This positionis responsible formaintainingand repairing on-farm infrastructure. Other duties may be assigned.

MinimumRequirements:

  • Must havevaliddrivers license.

  • Fork liftcertified or able to obtain certification.

  • Maintain minimum point level of 6.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for preventive maintenance program for all farm vehicles and poultry houses(50%)

  • These connectelectrical wiring and cables; installs lighting fixtures outlets switches wall boxes and terminal boards(20%)

  • These adjustfunctional parts of devices and control instruments; repairs or replaces defective parts; reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor(20%)

Other Duties Responsibilities and Activities:

  • These may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice such as:Maintain and assist with housekeeping standards in the working areas;inspect birds to determine quality and progress by weighing birds weekly; sanitation ofstorage areas breakroom boot rooms equipment and vehiclescleaning incinerators;moving birds grounds-keeping and organizing breeder tags; properly euthanize selected or weak/ill birds in accordance with company policy;Follow lock out tag out guidelines and procedures when performing activities that require lock out tag out; performs generator test runs each week; participate in trainings necessary to increase job performance(10%)

Biosecurity/Animal Welfare/Safety Requirements:

  • Thejobsiteis abiosecureenvironment which requires showeringchanging clothing and footwear before entering the facility. Appropriate clothing and footwearisprovided by the Company. No jewelry may be worn on the jobsite except formedical IDjewelry and body piercings covered byappropriate clothing. Must be willing to sign an agreement to avoid any avian species (chickens ducks birds etc.). Must be willing to sign and abide by the Company Biosecurity and Company Animal Welfare Guidelines.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Physical: Mustuse safe lifting techniques.Mustregularlylift and/or move up to50 poundsto move items such as vehicle parts fan motors tools etc.; tools such pallet jacks may be required tooccasionallylift and/or move up to2000 poundssuch as skids of supplies various on-farm equipment etc. While performing the duties of this job the employee isregularlyrequired to stand majority of shift (concrete floor); walk; sit; use hands to handle or feel objects and controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; climbing/ladder usage; talk or hear; drive a vehicle within the farm complex; proficiently operate trailer/tractor/skidsteer/hyster. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; and the ability to adjust focus.

  • Tools and Equipment:Use of specialized tools may bein this position.

  • Environment: Requiredto work on wet slippery surfaces and also work in hot dry dusty wet icy snowy and cold environments.

  • Personal Protective Equipment Required: Safety glasses safety goggles face shield chemical gloves waterproof apron and rubber boots are; fall protection harness when on top of feed truck.Ear plugsor muffswill be used as required.NIOSH approved N95 particulate respirators will be worn as needed.

  • Chemicals Commonly Used: Disinfectantssuch as Synergize My-T-KleenBarnwash Lysol Formaldehyde parts cleaners etc.
    Safety:TM is expected to follow all applicable safety policies and procedures. These include but are not limited to Hazard Communication Respiratory Protection LOTO and Personal Protective Equipment.TM is expected toidentifyaddressand mitigate safety related risks.

    General SignOff:
    The employee is expected to adhere to all Company policies.Failure to perform this job to the above standards could lead to progressive discipline up to and including termination.
