Easterseals Floridas Explorer Academy is seeking a reliable and flexible Substitute Teacher to provide classroom support when regular staff are absent. This role helps maintain a safe nurturing and developmentally appropriate environment while supporting childrens learning and daily routines.

What Youll Do
Provide classroom coverage across multiple age groups as needed
Follow lesson plans schedules and guidance from the Director or classroom teacher
Supervise children at all times and maintain proper staff to child ratios
Assist with daily activities such as learning centers meals toileting outdoor play and rest time
Support childrens social and emotional development through positive interactions
Maintain accurate records including attendance and daily notes
Communicate professionally with families and staff
Keep classrooms clean organized and safe; follow all health safety and sanitation procedures
Uphold confidentiality Easterseals policies and privacy standards
Adapt quickly to different classrooms and routines; serve as a positive role model
Participate in training and professional development opportunities
Perform other duties as needed to support program operations
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Experience working with young children preferred
Successful completion of the Florida Department of Children & Families 45-hour Child Care Training in early childhood education
Current CPR and First Aid certification
Experience working with children with disabilities or special needs
Positive patient and supportive interactions with children
Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to build positive relationships with children families and staff
Willingness to learn DCF standards ASQ Conscious Discipline and developmentally appropriate practices
