EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR IDE Sloan Initiative on the Digital Econ to work with the President Provost and other leaders at the Institute within the context of the Institutes broader effort to develop Presidential Initiatives; work with the IDE Directors the Deans office and other research centers at Sloan to match the schools overall strategy for research and fundraising; manage and steward key relationships of the Sloan School that optimize the global impact of Sloan and the IDE; broaden the support of key faculty to further enable their research and educational excellence; and further develop both short-term tactics and longer-term strategic planning to meet the IDEs Key Performance Indicators to drive growth and impact.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: Bachelors degree and a minimum of seven years of related work experience in senior organizational roles; strong leadership and management experience in an academic non-profit or professional services; robust people management skills; ability to collaborate and influence leaders and partners at all levels of the organization; experience taking projects to successful completion; interest exposure to and familiarity with digital technologies; be a creative and strategic thinker with an entrepreneurial spirit and a customer-centric mindset; highly developed interpersonal skills and excellent judgment; highly organized; demonstrated success at building organizations and new programs including the ability to develop resources and human capital; and exceptional written oral and presentation skills and the ability to effectively interface with multiple constituencies (including faculty students media policy makers advisory board members and alumni) internally and externally. PREFERRED: Graduate degree; familiarity with MIT or a peer institution; and an understanding of the cultural and interpersonal dynamics of a large university.
