Oglethorpe University Atlantas leading private Liberal Arts University is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic professional to serve as the Head Mens and Womens Cross Country/Track & Field Coach. The Head Coach is accountable for all phases of growing competitive cross country and track & field programs that compete in the Southern Athletic Association. Primary duties include coaching the teams managing the budget overseeing game day operations including travel arrangements and effectively recruiting student-athletes. This is a full-time position with an excellent benefits package including employer-paid health insurance a 403(b)-retirement plan tuition waivers and much more. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Head Coaches responsibilities include but are not limited to knowing and abiding by all University NCAA and Southern Athletic Association rules and regulations; coaching; recruiting; monitoring scholar-athlete academic progress; budgeting; fundraising; and scheduling. The successful candidate must be highly motivated and have a successful coaching record in a competitive cross country and track & field program. The successful candidate must also provide positive leadership in all aspects of the program and must possess strong interpersonal skills to interact professionally with all internal and external patrons. Other job duties and responsibilities are to be determined by the Director of Athletics.



Qualifications

A Bachelors degree is required and a minimum of three years of coaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred.A valid drivers license is also required.

Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

The successful candidate should also be knowledgeable of and committed to the rules and regulations of the NCAA Title IX and the SAA. The position will require the ability to demonstrate appropriate technical skills during practice and meets the ability to plan prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while working on multiple tasks; ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Some travel is required.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

This position requires work in a normal office environment as well as on trails and a track; typically running bending crouching and stooping.; use of tools requiring high dexterity is required as well as the occasional lifting of up to 50lbs; use of office equipment track and field equipment and alternative work schedule is also required.
