Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Your tasks

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer leads mechanical design and engineering activities for ZETAs biopharmaceutical client projects. This role drives the design and development of advanced process systems for upstream processing downstream purification plasma fractionation ADC manufacturing and cell and gene therapy applications.

The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer serves as a technical leader guiding junior engineers leading design reviews ensuring GMP and ASME BPE compliance and acting as a key contributor in crossfunctional engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Mechanical Engineering scope throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Lead development of complex 3D models assemblies and mechanical system designs.
• Develop P&IDs 2D layouts specifications detailed drawings and engineering documentation.
• Ensure designs comply with GMP ASME BPE and relevant engineering standards.
• Oversee and mentor junior engineers providing technical guidance.
• Translate process engineering requirements into robust mechanical solutions.
• Lead mechanical design reviews DFMEAs tolerance analyses and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with fabrication automation and process engineering teams.
• Support clients vendors and manufacturing teams throughout the project lifecycle. including customer meetings and design reviews.

Your profile

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7 years of mechanical design experience preferably in biopharma or process industries.
• Proficiency in 2D and 3D CAD modeling design standards and engineering best practices.
• Strong understanding of sanitary design materials welding and fabrication methods.
• Experience leading engineering projects and mentoring junior team members.
• Ability to work crossfunctionally and manage technical aspects of client projects.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

• Hybrid work model with three onsite days per week at the King of Prussia office.
• Travel up to 15% including domestic and international assignments as needed for project execution FAT/SAT or client support.
