Job Title: Mental Health Coordinator Correctional Facility
Location: Eden TX (76837)
Job Type: Contract (13 Weeks)
Schedule: 5x8 Day Shift
Position Summary
The Mental Health Coordinator is responsible for planning coordinating and delivering clinical mental health services within a secure correctional facility. This role focuses on providing non-medical mental health care including assessments treatment planning counseling and crisis intervention.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical expertise sound judgment and the ability to deliver high-quality care while maintaining professionalism in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments through clinical interviews and record reviews
- Develop implement and update individualized treatment plans based on patient needs
- Provide ongoing therapeutic services including counseling and behavioral interventions
- Deliver crisis intervention and support for acute mental health concerns
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluations treatment plans and clinical interactions
- Ensure strict confidentiality of patient information in compliance with regulatory standards
- Apply evidence-based practices and psychological theories in treatment delivery
- Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans to achieve optimal outcomes
Required Qualifications
Education:
- Masters degree in Social Work Psychology Mental Health Counseling or a related clinical field from an accredited institution
Licensure:
- Active and unrestricted state license in one of the following:
- Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
- Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
- Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)
Additional Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Valid drivers license (if required by contract)
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience
- At least two (2) years in a similar or related role
- Strong knowledge of mental health assessment diagnosis and treatment planning
- Proven ability to provide counseling and crisis intervention in structured environments
- Excellent documentation communication and organizational skills
- High level of professionalism ethics and confidentiality
