We have an opportunity available at our Shelbyville Indiana facility for a Human Resources Generalist.
Primary Function:
Assist with HR functions projects and initiatives as required. Screen interview and coordinate non-exempt hiring. Complete pre and post offer on boarding and screenings and manage the production waitlist. Proactive employee relations for the TREC site. Serve as contact person to share performance issues or other concerns regarding staff to the partner with Director and ensure resolution. Conduct site visits and share results. Assist with planning employee events and other related functions to improve the employee experience.
Essential Duties:
- Manage a variety of HR projects as assigned ensuring that projects are completed in a timely manner with appropriate research communication and budgetary considerations.
- Proactive employee relations- in coordination with TREC Leadership team address employee. Create publish attend and report for Monthly staff visits to proactive monitor employee relations.
- Provide regular financial reports to management regarding costs changes and trends.
- Weekly employment report- gathering analyzing and publishing weekly
- Screen and interview prospective employees for hourly and office positions. Administer pre- employment testing conduct / coordinate screenings including background drug testing and review of references. Produce metrics associated with this function.
- In partnership with Safety team and departments produce and publish orientation schedule. Conduct new hire orientation program.
- Work as the Benefit Administrator assisting with employee issues vendor issues compliance and documentation.
- Reviews tracks and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training continuing education and work assessments. This may include safety training anti-harassment training professional licensure and aptitude exams and certifications.
- Recruits interviews and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- Implements employee recognition programs.
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programsincluding but not limited to compensation benefits and leave; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity recognition and morale; occupational health and safety; and training and development.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants employees and supervisors referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings terminations and investigations.
- Maintains compliance with federal state and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Maintains knowledge of trends best practices regulatory changes and new technologies in human resources talent management and employment law.
- May assist with constructive and timely performance evaluations.
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Skills & Qualifications Required:
- Excellent interpersonal negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong project management analytical and problem-solving skills as well as strong written and verbal communications skills.
- Knowledgeable in HR policies and general HR practices/employment law and regulations.
- Ability to act with integrity professionalism and confidentiality.
- Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications HRIS experience (preferably ADP) Adobe.
Education & Experience Required:
- Associates degree (required) plus a minimum of 5 years HR related experience.
- PHR preferred
- SHRM-CP is a plus.
