Job Title: Senior Voice / VoIP Engineer Locations: Philadelphia PA Mount Laurel NJ Denver CO Type: 12-Month Contract (Extension Possible)
Position Summary
Seeking a Senior Voice/VoIP Engineer with expert-level SIP knowledge to design support and troubleshoot large-scale enterprise voice platforms. This role serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for call center and IVR environments translating business requirements into scalable secure and high-availability voice architectures across multi-region infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Design architect and support SIP-based VoIP solutions (call center and IVR focused).
Troubleshoot SIP signaling RTP/media flow and cross-platform voice issues.
Convert business requirements into detailed technical designs and integration plans.
Provide Tier 3/Tier 4 escalation support for critical voice outages.
Partner with engineering teams during design certification and deployment phases.
Perform Linux CLI-based diagnostics and server-level performance analysis.
Develop basic automation scripts (Bash Python) for operational efficiency.
Monitor voice platform performance to ensure uptime call quality and SLA adherence.
Maintain technical documentation including call flows configurations and DR procedures.
Manage SIP trunking and carrier integrations with service providers.
Ensure compliance with voice security standards and engineering best practices.
Required Qualifications
Expert knowledge of SIP protocols SIP signaling and RTP media streams.
Strong Linux administration and CLI troubleshooting skills.
Experience with PBX systems SIP trunking and carrier-grade voice environments.
Systems-level troubleshooting across VoIP networking and server platforms.
Basic scripting experience (Bash Python or similar).
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Ribbon or AudioCodes SBCs (Oracle/Acme Packet or similar).
Familiarity with BroadWorks or carrier-grade voice systems.
Experience with Cisco Voice and Unified Communications (CUCM CUBE etc.).
Background supporting multi-region or global voice deployments.
