The Role:
We are looking forsomeone who is passionate about food and fanatic about high standards. As a CAVA Quality Assurance Technician youwill be responsible for executing and enforcing daily quality-based tasks thatare instrumental to maintaining CAVAs quality. Our Quality Assurance Technicians adhere toall plant GMPs and lead others by example through following very importantFSQA behaviors. This position willreport directly to the Food Safety and Quality Manager offers limitedovertime and requires some scheduling flexibility.
What Youll Do:
Administers Equipment and Sensory based Quality Assurance checks(pH temperature titrations inspections taste/visual checks verificationchecks etc)
Conducts ATP Allergen and Environmental Swabbing
Evaluates raw materials to ensure Quality Control standards foringredients and packaging
Observes and reviews production practices and behaviors toverify adherence to procedures
Works closely with production staff to implement holdscorrective actions and document processes
Assists management to develop and review SOPs
Manages sample submissions to outside lab and tracks results foranomalies
Conducts quality-based training with assistance from management
Contributes insight and feedback to management team to improveupon current processes
Executes additional projects and tasks as assigned by the FoodSafety and Quality Manager
Assists the production department in order to meet yield demands
The Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in food science Chemistry or other sciencepreferred
1 years of experience in the food manufacturing industry
Experience in Quality Assurance is a plus
Possess exceptional analytical skills critical thinking andproblem-solving skills
Must have strong communication skills both verbal and written
Must be comfortable with Microsoft Office Suite
Must have excellent organization skills
Must be self-driven and able to work independently to deliverresults in a timely manner
Must have familiarity with Food Safety plans
HACCP plan experience desired
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to work in a cold environment standing and walkingup to 75% Physical ability to sit for extended periods and work at a computer
Must be able to learn and operate basic production andsanitation equipment
Must be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
Must be able to identify assess and observe detail
Must be able to occasionally push pull lift or carry up to 50pounds
Must be able to roll 500 lb bowls of product
Need to have good dexterity and possess abilities to makecritical sensory observations
Ability to work around chemicals such as chlorine and/or othersanitizers
Ability to see hear and speak regularly
Ability to squat kneel bend and twist occasionally
Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner
