Overview
Pharmerica Hospital Pharmacy Services Senior Operations Director of Hospital Pharmacy - to direct the operations of multiple hospital pharmacies under a contractual relationship with the hospitals. Coordinates hospital pharmacy operations with the hospital CEO/COO/CNO and with the hospital pharmacy directors.
Responsibilities
- Provides direction and guidance for hospital pharmacy directors
- Monitors staffing levels overtime and use of contract labor or agency recruiting within each pharmacy
- Reviews and evaluates pharmacy quality processes and aggressively works to define and maintain quality standards in the practice of hospital pharmacy
- Hires trains evaluates and develops pharmacy directors and other staff
- Evaluates financial performance of pharmacies in the region relative to budget expectations with the ability to focus change necessary to reasonably meet financial expectations
- Routinely visits customer facilities to enhance business relationships obtain quality feedback and address customer issues
- Utilizes customer contacts and networking to identify new business
- Directs and coordinates performance improvement activities within the Region
- Assists with the development and implementation of marketing goals and strategies to meet business growth goals
- Ensures that pharmacy employees receive compliance training and education necessary to perform their job responsibilities
- Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Companys Code of Business Conduct its policies and procedures the Corporate Compliance Agreement applicable federal and state laws and applicable professional standards
- Performs other tasks assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy; Pharm D is preferred
- A minimum of five years experience in hospital pharmacy
- A minimum of three years experience as a hospital pharmacy director
- Management experience in a multi-site pharmacy setting is extremely preferred
- Knowledge of pharmacy laws and applicable federal and state regulations
- Knowledge and understanding of operating hospital pharmacies in a contracted relationship
- Ability to communicate effectively and at all levels of the organization
- Skilled at directing and motivating the workforce
- Ability to organize prioritize and self-motivate
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records
- Ability to travel regularly
